Children are potentially the light of the world. They are the most cherished treasure a community can possess. What we do or fail to do today, will determine their choices they make tomorrow as citizens of the world.
The Spiritual Education of Children uses a well designed curriculum for children from the age of 5 to 11 and is open to children from all religious backgrounds. It focuses on nurturing their moral and spiritual development by emphasizing core virtues such as kindness, respect, love, justice, forgiveness, etc. with stories, songs, and interactive activities to help the children internalize these values. The classes aim to help children develop a strong spiritual foundation, an appreciation for diversity, and a commitment to contributing positively to their families, communities, and the world.
The classes also seek to inspire in children a love of God and His Messengers, and of humanity in all its diversity. As it says in one of their lessons about love : “God’s love shines on us like rays of the sun. It shines on everyone regardless of our background. So we can reflect that light by being loving to everyone.” They study this concept of love through quotations like; “O Friend! In the garden of thy heart plant naught but the rose of love”. They also learn it through story, games and songs.
The classes in spiritual education of children inspire children to be active participants instead of passive recipients of knowledge. They empower the children to reveal the qualities and virtues they have been given by God.
"Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom." Baha’u’llah
The classes are usually conducted weekly and they include: prayers, quotations, short lessons, activities to build friendship, games, stories, art and music.
All children are welcome to join the classes!
We also invite the youth and adults to do this vital work with us!
